What is Aromatherapy?
“Aromatherapy uses the volatile aromatic plant essences, known as essential oils, to treat ill-health and help maintain good health. Aromatherapy as used today originated in Europe and has been practiced here since the early 1900s. It is now finding popularity world-wide.” – International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists
FOUR FAB REASONS to use aromatherapy:
Relief of physical pain
Reduce Mental Fatigue
For various aspects of skincare
During an aromatherapy consultation we will use a holistic approach to help support your wellbeing and overall health. Aromatherapy does not look to diagnose or ‘treat’ medical conditions, but it can be used as a highly relaxing and effective complementary therapy that will aid in reducing and relieve symptoms from afflictions and illnesses such as pain or low mood.
The essential oils work on three levels;
Physically, with pharmacological effects on the body when inhaled or absorbed
Emotionally, with their effect on the brain via interaction with the olfactory system
Energetically, as their energetic vibration reacts with the bodies bioenergetic and nervous systems.
Thinking about booking an Aromatherapy Consultation?
I currently offer two options:
1) 'Let's Chat' Consult - If you already have the oils but need ideas or safe advice on what to do with them, get in touch. These consults are held over email and/or video call. £20.
2) Full consultation - If you would like me to create bespoke blends or products for you, after a full consultation I can put together your very own aroma care package and send this out to you. £35 including supply and postage.
Note - If you would like a resupply of anything I will only charge the cost per item plus any delivery costs, but if your medical situation changes an updated consultation will be required which will be £15 for the consult and aroma product supply & delivery.
What happens during a consultation?
After some initial note taking to discuss your reasons for the session and reviewing your medical history and current health, we will explore the options on what would be the most suitable approach for your personal requirements. This may be making up a unique blend of oils or introducing ways to use just one oil. It may be creating a bespoke product such as a yummy cream (not for eating), soothing bath salts (also not for eating), or aromatic massage may be used if it would be beneficial*. There are lots of other products I can create for you - I like to get creative, but I'm sure you get the point that Aromatherapy isn't just about the essential oils!
* Body massage is available as a standalone option, but when given as part of an aromatherapy consultation any massage offered will be on a targeted location of the body to address a specific concern. Only available for in person sessions (not offered during lockdown) because as magical as I am, I can't give a massage without you being physically present.
At Anwen Aromatherapy, you will receive a professional service from someone qualified, insured, with experience and a high level of knowledge in the safe practice of Aromatherapy. The focus is always on your overall wellbeing, and sessions are tailored with an attitude of compassion.
